(Hata-ori Workshop with the traditional craft Kame-aya Ori weaving)

The Shinjo Kame-aya Ori Weaving Preservation Society
Workshop Hata-ori Nagaya

Shinjo Kame-aya Ori weaving which was started in the around the early 19th century requires advanced techniques. These techniques are currently being passed down to future generations by the members of the preservation society. Thin silk thread is used so even experts take a full day to weave 10cm. The groups hears this and they are impressed by the high level of Japanese technology. They take on the challenge of making a plain weave coaster.
